Mexico Missions For the past 25 years, "Mexico Missions" under the leadership of Rich Sutton has been raising funds and organizing groups to build churches in the Veracruz Conference Region in Mexico. The original goal was to help youth and the "young in heart" experience revival and develop a passion for missions through short term projects for the fast growing congregations in Mexico. However, in the last 10 years, the program has grown tremendously in efficiency. Each trip south of the border now involves building two churches and running VBS programs, health expos, providing medical, dental and vision clinics and multiple crusades. That is a look at the past... but a need for the future has been discovered. The cries from the mission field are for skilled workers, not unskilled volunteers. EG White states, "With such an army of workers as our youth, rightly trained might furnish, how soon the message of a crucified, risen and soon coming Saviour might be carried to the whole world!" Education 271. With an apparent lack of skilled training opportunities available, the "Mexico Missions and Beyond" leadership is resolved to... 1. Provide right training, encouragement and direction in the form of short summer intensives to fit and qualify individuals for "mission" service through practical "hands on" training AND experience in addition to formal instruction. 2. Challenge each graduating student to at join a minimum of one "mission tour" in the Lord's work while attempting to match each graduating student with a real mission service opportunity either at home or abroad. Our goal is that in just 10 days of training in cooperation with God's Spirit, unskilled workers will acquire a form of "mission preparedness," a skill set, a passion for "mission service," anda service opportunity to serve the Lord. The pool of intensive classes and training offered (as interest demands) are in the following areas:
1. Building Trades (site planning, construction, masonry, welding -
making steel trusses, foremanship, and more.) While the instructors of these intensives will be volunteers who have had true "mission" experience, all instructors will be under the leadership of Rich Sutton. Please contact us at 231-878-3265 or richpamsutton@yahoo.com .
