For the past 25 years, "Mexico Missions" under the leadership of Rich Sutton has been raising funds and organizing groups to build churches in the Veracruz Conference Region in Mexico. The original goal was to help youth and the "young in heart" experience revival and develop a passion for missions through short term projects for the fast growing congregations in Mexico. However, in the last 10 years, the program has grown tremendously in efficiency. Each trip south of the border now involves building two churches and running VBS programs, health expos, providing medical, dental and vision clinics and multiple crusades. That is a look at the past... but a need for the future has been discovered. More...

Another interesting story, there was a young man that decided to give his heart to Jesus and be baptized. The baptism was going to take place our last Sabbath there. He was ill, and only got sicker and sicker. He passed away two days before the baptism date. Seemingly a victory for Satan, but as always with God, God wins in the end. That Sabbath there was a baptism, in which before the pastor asked his family to stand and come up to the front. There were his children, his wife, his parents, his brothers and sisters, all desiring to give their lives to the Lord and be preparing for baptism because of his faithfulness, his instruction and example, which would have never happened had he stayed alive. This young man won more souls by his death than his life. Our God knows the end from the beginning! ____________________________ We facilitate Mexico Missions on a shoestring, and God always provides. He has never let us down yet. He keeps us on a need to know basis though. This year we were three months away from leaving in December and we were still about $6000 short of the goal for the trip. There was a lady that had promised to donate $5000 when she closed on the sale of her property. The property sold in a timely manner but one thing after another came up to prevent her from closing. We needed the money to send down to the Mexican Conference to purchase the materials to build the church. It began to look as though the lady’s property would not close before the deadline. We had to request that the Mexican Conference front the money. They usually can’t do that. They simply don’t have the funds. Finally about 1 1/2 weeks before our departure date, the deal closed and she was able to give us the money that she had promised for the trip. When we looked at the check, it was the needed $6000! It was $1000 more than she had promised! God takes care of everything, doesn’t He? More... Rich Sutton |
